The outfit portrayed at the
left is a pleiad of fabrics concealing the body: black velvet straight
dress beneath a royal blue silk sarafan, slashed on the right side.
The outer blue sarafan is flared at the bottom and lets one guess
the line of the body. The sleeves of the black dress are flared.
Golden-yellow apppliqués decorate both garments.
The outfit on the right is more
generous in terms of revealing the neckline. Flared black velvet
dress and a blue silk tunic combine into an A-line silhouette, stretched
on the waist and pulled over one shoulder only.
Gouache painting.
